Creating your account
1. Click here to go to the Noteflight website.
2. Click the orange button to JOIN Noteflight.
3. Enter your username and password that you use for school.

LESSON 1 - Entering Notes & Rhythm from the Tool Palette
(Save your work periodically from the File menu)
1. Once you have successfully logged in click on NEW SCORE.
2. Using the sheet music you have been provided. Enter the Title and Composer text in the appropriate places.
3. Time Signature - Leave it as 4/4
4. Begin entering the notes in the Treble Clef only.
5. Once you complete the 24 measures in the Treble Clef, listen to your piece for accuracy and make corrections.
6. Begin entering the notes in the Bass Clef. (Skip this step for now)
7. Once you have completed entering the notes in the Treble Clef and Bass Clef please save your work from the file menu.
8. You are ready to begin Lesson 2.

LESSON 2 - Adding a Percussion part
(Save your work periodically from the File menu)
1. Highlight the first measure in the Bass Clef by clicking in the measure.
2. Once it is highlighted, go to MENU - STAFF and select Add Part Below Staff
3. Select unpitched percussion and click on the triangle to open the folder
4. Select Drums (Standard) and click OK.
5. You may enter various rhythms in this new staff. You may choose different drum sounds by moving the notes up or down.
Though all quarter notes will work, be more creative and make it interesting.
6. Once you have completed your percussion part, listen to your piece from the beginning and make any changes.
7. Save your work from the File menu.
8. You are ready to begin Lesson 3.

1. Highlight the first measure in the Bass Clef by clicking in the measure.
2. Once it is highlighted, go to MENU - STAFF and select Add Part Below Staff
3. Select keyboards and click on the triangle to open the folder
4. Select piano and click OK.
5. *IMPORTANT* On the new piano System, double click on the Bass Clef staff to highlight the entire line.
6. Once selected press BACKSPACE to delete the line.
7. Select all the measures on the Treble Clef line that you entered by double clicking the first measure.
8. Copy (Ctrl C) and paste (Ctrl V) into the new staff you created.
9. You may now begin altering this part to create your first variation.
10. Save your work from the File menu.
11. You are ready to begin Lesson 4.
